President Barack Obama made his first visit as president to the hurricane-ravished region of New Orleans on Thursday, where he committed to helping citizens continue to rebuild, more than four years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city.
Obama also hosted a Town Hall Meeting at the University of New Orleans — and it was Tyren Scott, a 4th-grader from Paulina, Louisiana, who stole the show with the final question of the night. Read the rest of this entry »

Tyson Beckford isn’t going out of his way to dispel the gay rumors that have followed him for most of his career.
The world’s most famous male supermodel appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live last Thursday night, where he identified President Barack Obama as the man he’d most like to hit the sheets with.
“I don’t actually go that way, but i notice like a lot of people think i do… but you know what if I’m a do it – I’m going for Obama. If I got with him I could run the country. If i was that way Obama I would go for you brother,” he added. “Yeah, I’d be the one in control. That’s if i was that way. Like who you going to go for? Will Smith – somebody pretty like that? I mean not to say Obama isn’t pretty – I would go straight for Obama.”
President Barack Obama spoke openly about whether he thinks racism is behind recent political attacks against him on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday.
Referring to Republican Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You lie!” outburst as Obama addressed health-care reform to the nation two weeks ago, Letterman asked Obama if he believed former President Jimmy Carter’s assertion that the South Carolina congressman is racist. Read the rest of this entry »
For those who care, CNN has unearthed video footage of President Obama referring to Kanye West by what will likely become his new nickname — “Jackass” — during a pre-interview chat with CNBC on Monday. The presidental diss came on the heels of the loudmouthed rapper’s tasteless stage-crashing during country cutie Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 Video Music Awards in New York City last Sunday night.
The President of The United States has been caught on tape lighting into Kanye West. TMZ just obtained audio of President Barack Obama referring to the hip-hop heavyweight as “a jackass” in the aftermath of the rapper’s infamous stage-storming during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards 2009 in New York City on Sunday night. President Barack Obama will visit CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman on Monday, Sept. 21, as part of a media blitz to promote his health care message to Americans.
Obama’s visit will make the first time a sitting president has ever visited the Late Show, CBS said in press release this afternoon. Obama has appeared on the late-night comedy five times in the past, mostly during his presidential campaign in September 2008.
The president will be the only guest on Monday’s Late Show.
Even President Barack Obama has an opinion on Krazy Kanye’s stage-storming at Sunday night’s VMAs, according to Politico.com.
On Monday night, ABC’s Terry Moran Tweeted: “Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.”
Moran deleted the post soon after, but not before catching the attention of his more than 1 million followers.
“In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview,” according to a statement issued by ABC News shortly after Moran’s Tweets emerged. “This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”
(Which means, no one is disputing Obama made the comment, just that it wasn’t meant for publication.)
Apparently having respect for the office of the presidency is something some Republicans only give lip service to, although to be fair I don’t think Joe Wilson making a jackass out of himself will be popular with most conservatives. Here is video of South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson screaming “You Lie” at Barack Obama during his health care address to the nation on 9/9/09:
