Former American Idol 2006 semi-finalist Ayla Brown is the newest face joining the roster at CBS’ The Early Show.

The daughter of Massachusetts Republican Senator Scott Brown — who is still working toward her Communications degree at Boston College — has been tapped as a contributor who will produce pieces focused on the youth audience for the breakfast program, Early Show executive producer David Friedman said Tuesday. Massachusetts Sen.-elect Scott Brown is putting his new-found fame to good use — the Republican lawmaker wants his oldest daughter back on reality TV. On Sunday, Brown told ABC’s This Week that he’d like his daughter Ayla to get another chance on the FOX talent show American Idol, where judge Simon Cowell once described her performance as robotic and empty.
