A la Jessica Simpson, mother-to-be Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is preparing to channel her inner “dumbass” for a new reality show about her life as Mrs. Pete Wentz. The newlyweds have already begun shopping footage for the proposed series to several television networks and Ash works overtime to appear as enduringly dense as her big sister Jess did on her own unscripted hit, MTV’s Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.
“One scene is at a dinner and everyone is toasting to business ventures and important things like that,” a celebrity source revealed to OK! Magazine. “But when it came to Ashlee, she toasted ‘to jewelry,’ and Pete just shook his head.”

Ashlee Simpson has opted to hypenate her stage name to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz after wedding Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz in a sunset ceremony in Encino, California ten days ago. When she’s not performing “Ay Ay (Outta My Head)”, “Pieces of Me” or any of her other singles, the pop singer will be legally known as Ashlee Wentz, in honor of her new husband.
“I think that that’s something that a woman should do when they’re marrying a man,” she tells PEOPLE. “It’s a tradition that I think is a great tradition.”
Looks like Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz didn’t spend their honeymoon “in the basement,” after all. The newlyweds landed at NYC’s LaGuardia Airport late Thursday after spending the last week soaking up the sun in the Caribbean in celebration of their nuptials. Pete and Ash somehow managed to slip out of the country unseen; sounds like they had a great time.
