“Bittersweet World” no longer: Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is giving up her recording career for her son. Celebrity insiders tell London’s The Mirror, the hoedown-dancing, “Pieces of Me” crooner has made the decision to hang up her mic and focus on her acting career for the sake of her son with hubby Pete Wentz.
The 25-year-old singer/actress — who was recently canned from the tepid television remake Melrose Place — feels only acting can give her the time to be with the 11-month-old Bronx.
“She’s reading scripts. Acting is her focus now. If she had an album, she’d have to tour and be away from Bronx. She wants consistency….”

Nobody puts Jessica’s baby sister in a corner! Singer-actress Jessica Simpson is fuming over younger sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s unceremonious eviction from Melrose Place — and she’s venting her frustration with the CW show via Twitter.
“CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with, but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press,” Jessica Tweeted on Sunday night.
Late last month, the network announced that Ashlee and co-star Colin Egglesfield would be dropped from the Melrose cast in January following the end of the “Who Killed Sydney?” storyline.
While the move may have come as a surprise to fans, executive producer Todd Slavkin claims it was in the cards all along.

But we hear the seasoned actress got into the mother of all catfights with actress-singer Ashlee Simpson on the set of the of The CW’s Melrose revival, as a rivalry ensued over who would be the show’s official Queen Bee. When the dust settled, Heather was the last the woman standing, Star Magazine claims in its Nov. 9 issue.
