Newlywed Ashlee Simpson has postponed her 2008 summer tour.

“After careful consideration, Ashlee Simpson has decided to postpone her summer tour,” the pregnant singer’s publicist said in a statement Saturday. “She is committed to giving her fans the best show possible, and will be back better than ever and ready to rock in the future.”

Singer Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz is due to welcome the arrival of her first child on October 27th, 2008, The National Enquirer reports. Pete and Ashlee confirmed the star’s heavily-rumored pregnancy in a posting on the social networking site FriendsorEnemies.com on Wednesday.

Forget diamonds and emeralds and rubies, Pete Wentz is giving his pregnant new wife the gift of Lego. The odd emo-rocker had Ashlee Simpson-Wentz a giant bee made out of Lego to celebrate their wedding two weeks ago. PEOPLE Magazine reported lackluster sales after forking over fistfuls of cash (approximately a cool million to be exact) for a cover shot and exclusive pictures from Pete and Ashlee’s wedding earlier this month; subsequently the rest of the industry decided to pass on a massive payout for an exclusive story confirming Ashlee’s pregnancy.
