Remember when we told you that Grammy-winning hip-poppers The Black Eyed Peas planned to take a hiatus following the release of their most recent album?

Yeah, well according to a new scoop floating around the Interwebs, it’s actually Fergie who’s going on an extended vacation. She’s planning to take an indefinite leave of absence after BEP’s last scheduled show on Nov. 23.

Ashanti’s Windy City wackjob is going to the pokey: A rapper wannabe was convicted of sending a slew of X-rated photos and texts to the mother of R&B star Ashanti.

Devar Hurd, 31, was found guilty of stalking and aggravated harassment in a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday following numerous attempts to court the R&B beauty by sending tawdry messages and X-rated pictures he said were “for the ladies” to the Grammy-winner’s mother and manager, Tina Douglas. Hurd pestered an industry exec into giving him Douglas cellphone number and commenced to leave voicemails for the singer. He also bombarded her mom with texts and photos of his genitals, according to The New York Daily News.

Hurd — a car saleman — said he wanted to meet Ashanti after the two made eye contact at a 2003 concert in Chicago and thought the messages were welcome.

He faces up to two years in prison when sentenced Jan. 11.

The stars were out in full force at Wednesday night’s 2008 ESPY Awards and were dressed to the nines. (Like Danica Patrick and NBA player Lisa Leslie above.)
