Did Anne Hathaway & James Franco bomb hosting Sunday’s Oscars? Whoopi Goldberg sure thinks so!
On The View Monday, the four-time Academy Award host gave her critique of newbie hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway — aka “The Academy’s attempt at staying young and current…” — who have gotten some harsh reviews from critics over their handling of last night’s ceremony.
In their first Question & Answer session ahead of this Sunday’s 2011 Academy Awards, emcees James Franco (also a Best Actor nominee for 127 Hours) and Anne Hathaway tell the upcoming issue of The Hollywood Reporter Magazine, on newsstands Thursday, that there will be no uncomfortable moments like the ones that dominated last month’s Golden Globes, thanks to British funny guy Ricky Gervais.
“If you’re looking for someone to call people out, we’re not your hosts,” Anne explains.
In a hilarious new promo for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, this year’s hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway are preparing for every possible Oscar emergency.
In fact, James even offers Anne tips on how to avoid a possible wardrobe malfunction when the pair hand out the most esteemed prizes for 2010′s best in film at the Kodak Theatre on Feb. 27.
Meow! Say hello to the new Selina Kyle. Anne Hathaway will claw her way up the silver screen as the whip-cracking feline temptress the Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s 2012 action-blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. announced on Wednesday.
