The former Disney star, who earned an Oscar nod for her role in the 2008 film Rachel Getting Married, is the latest actress rumored to be up for the role of vampy villain Black Cat in the hotly-anticipated fourth Spider-Man; Julia Stiles, Rachel McAdams and Romola Garai have all been linked to the project in recent weeks.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Anne has been approached by producers to appear in the latest installment in the superhero saga, opening in May 2011.

Proving that no good deed goes unpunished, Anne Hathaway ended up on the receiving end of a razor-edged rant when she offered a bag of leftovers to a disheveled old woman sitting on a bus bench.

The woman was outraged and wasted no time flipping the Bitch Switch on on poor Anne.

“What do you think I am – HOMELESS?…I’m just waiting for the bus!…Just because I’m not all dressed up, you think I’m a homeless woman?” she bellowed

A humiliated Anne apologized profusely before quickly scampered away with her rejected doggie bag.

Anne, who inked a deal last month to portray screen legend Judy Garland in an upcoming screen/theatrical biopic, recently forged a fast friendship with the 45-year-old fashionisto, which fashion insiders believe has placed the 26-year-old in a prime position to replace Posh Spice as Marc’s new muse.

“Marc and Anne have forged a fast but very intense friendship and they’re going to start doing public appearances together soon,” a friend of the actress told Britain’s Daily Mail over the weekend.

“Anne hasn’t signed up to do any advertising yet but, by dressing her, Marc can infuse his line with a fresh but famous face and Anne can revamp her image.”

The insider added, “If it works well, Anne would be happy to model for some of Marc’s campaigns.”

Producers with The Weinstein Company have confirmed reports that Oscar-nominated actress Anne Hathaway will do double duty as beloved Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland in an upcoming film and theater project to bring the tragic star’s life to the stage and big screen.

The Rachel Getting Married star, 26, is set to tackle Judy’s s hits as part of the Weinstein Company’s planned adaptations of biographer Gerald Clarke’s 2001 book Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland.

Harvey Weinstein told WENN late Monday, “We are thrilled to have the brilliantly talented Anne Hathaway portray stage and screen legend Judy Garland. I have worked with Anne on projects in the past and have known her for many years. She will be a true class act in this challenging role.”

He added, “Gerald Clarke’s biography is a fascinating and comprehensive look at Garland’s life and is particularly outstanding because of its exclusive details from her own writings. Her story is incredible subject matter for both theatre and film and we look forward to bringing it to audiences.”

Anne Hathaway is in discussions to play Judy Garland in an upcoming film based on Gerald Clarke’s biography, Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland.

The biopic will chart Judy’s rise from a striking child star to her struggle with drinks and alcohol.

The 26-year-old Disney starlet turned Oscar-nominated actress is so excited about the prospect of bringing Garland to the big screen, she’s willing to scrap her lead role in the upcoming comedy The Fiance.

“Anne dearly wants to do a musical and this could be her chance,” a Hollywood insider told The Daily Mail on Sunday. “The big attraction is that it really will be her singing, not recordings of Judy. She is determined to do it justice. If she nails the part, she will be a shoo-in for some big awards.”

Somehow Anne’s good-natured remark made it back to the former Mrs. Pitt, and America’s Sweetheart was anything but soft-spirited.

“Say what you like…I’ve never dated con men or criminals!” Jennifer snarled, referring to Anne’s former boyfriend, an Italian businessman who was collared on federal fraud charges last summer.
