Conservative fruitcake Ann Coulter got to have her say on The TODAY Show this week, after all. Despite rumors that the commentator had been banned from NBC, TODAY’s Matt Lauer spoke with Ann about President-Elect Obama and her new book, Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America , on Wednesday.

“I’m glad you’re back,” Matt greeted Ann this morning.

“So am I,” she replied with a smile.

“You’re not banned for life,” Matt added.

“I’m delighted to hear that,” Ann said.

“We switched you for Tony Blair,” Matt explained.

“The point is, I was cancelled twice,” Ann countered referring to a second scheduled appearance on Tuesday with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford in the show’s fourth hour that was also dropped.

“Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean you don’t have enemies,” Matt smiled.

In her latest book, Guilty: Liberal ‘Victims’ and Their Assault on America, available on Tuesday, conservative commentator Ann Coulters charges that liberals in America “try to play victim when really, they’re the bullies.”

The phrase “B@tch, please!” spring to mind, but let’s hear her out.

“(The book is) basically about how victimhood is rewarded and everyone wants to be a victim,” Coulter said in an interview with CBS’ The Early Show on Tuesday. “It’s about the rewards and praise you get for being a victim and the way liberals use victimhood and they oppress others.”

Conservative chatterbox Ann Coulter nearly had a coronary on Monday when head honchos at The TODAY Show abruptly cancelled a scheduled appearance on the day her new book about The Obamas is set to hit bookshelves.

The cancellation has sparked speculation that she had been “banned for life” from NBC and its two cable news networks, CNBC and MSNBC. A claim a high-ranking NBC News official has as “total hogwash.”

NBC insists Ann was bumped from TODAY’s Tuesday schedule to make room for “breaking news.”

“Understanding the media as well as she does,” a network spokeswoman said in a statement Monday, “we are sure she knows this happens. We look forward to welcoming her back in the future.”

Coulter’s book, Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America, boasts a number of scathing attacks on the future First Family, including the observation that Michelle Obama is a “Jackie O wannabe.”

Ann Coulter Credit Card Declined Publix Palm Beach

Ann Coulter was left with egg all over her face in the checkout line. The chatty conservative had her credit card rejected at Publix Supermarket in Palm Beach on Saturday night.

The New York Post reports:

According to our spy, the nutty arch-conservative was caught at 9:45 p.m. Saturday night in the 10 Items or Less line at the local Publix when her card was rejected. “She was embarrassed but didn’t make a scene. She just paid with cash and ran out of there. But at least she’s eating.”
