Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie are in talks to play the monarchs of The Gucci Family in director Ridley Scott’s new film about the fashion dynasty.
Jolie is slated to play Patrizia Reggiano, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison for masterminding the murder-for-hire plot that killed the fashion guru in 1995, according to Thursday’s Variety.
Shooting on the Gucci biopic is expected to begin early next year.
South African screen siren Charlize Theron has backed out of the globetrotting thriller The Tourist — and fellow Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is now reportedly in discussions to replace her, industry spies tell The Hollywood Reporter.
No reason has been given for Charlize’s departure.. The Tourist is a remake of the 2005 French thriller Anthony Zimmer. The plot follows an American tourist traveling abroad who is seduced by a beautiful woman and becomes caught in an international plot involving Interpol and the Russian mafia who both mistake him for a criminal mastermind.
Sam Worthington, of Terminator: Salvation and Avatar, has already signed on to play the male lead.
The Tourist is slated to begin shooting in early 2010.
A life-size nude statue of Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie will soon grace the streets of Oklahoma City.
New York-based artist Daniel Edwards has created a bronze sculpture featuring the stunning mother of six breastfeeding her young twins Knox and Vivienne.
The statue, titled “Landmark for Breastfeeding,” was inspired by Angie’s 2008 W Magazine cover, in which she was photographed by boyfriend Brad Pitt nursing the newborns.
The structure will be unveiled next month.
“We believe the statue sends a beautiful message by promoting the acceptance of public breastfeeding. Mothers should be encouraged to nurture their babies anywhere,” says Sandy Wilson of Phantom-Financial, the organization behind the sculpture.
