Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg is getting hitched.
The Lonely Island star popped the question to his girlfriend, singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom, his rep confirmed to People magazine on Monday. They’ve been dating for five years.
Samberg, 34 and Newsom, 31, appeared together at Sunday’s Vanity Fair post-Oscars bash in Hollywood. The couple also attended Saturday’s Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, where Samberg served as Master of Ceremonies.
In 2012, Andy departed SNL after seven seasons on the sketch comedy series.
Sony Pictures is plotting One Hit Wonders, a musical comedy starring Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Saturday Night Live’s Andy Samberg and celebrity besties Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyonce.
In a concept dreamed up by Glee creator Ryan Murphy, One Hit Wonders shadows a gaggle of washed-up singers who form a girl supergroup in an attempt to stage a chart comeback.
Instead of Mark Zuckerberg taking the stage at the time he was expected to appear, “Saturday Night Live” and “The Lonely Island” star Andy Samberg came out — and did his finest Zuck impression.
Clear the way, Piers Morgan. With Oprah Winfrey signing off this week after a quarter century as the Queen of Talk, everyone with two pennies and a microphone is looking to elbow their way into the talk show arena.
Even Sesame Street’s Bert is throwing his stripped sweater into the ring.
The puppet is the host of the newest chat sensation sweeping daytime — Conversations With Bert. Things took a bit of a hostile tone, however, as the ever-cranky pigeon fanatic prepared to ask some hard-hitting questions of SNL comic Andy Samberg in his first interview.
(Warning: Don’t try to pull that “snappy comedy banter” over on Bert…)
“Let’s just dive into the conversation, shall we?”
