Anderson Cooper Tapped To Replace Regis Philbin On “Live!”

The time could be right for The Silver Fox to step in for Regis.

Television legend has tapped CNN anchor Anderson Cooper — host of AC360 — to replace him on Live! within in the next two years, The National Enquirer reported Monday.

According to the tabloid report, Buena Vista Television is expected to offer Anderson a multimillion contract to join Kelly Ripa as host of the ABC morning gabfest when 78-year-old Regis retires in 2011.

“Reege loves Anderson,” an industry mole blabs. “And Anderson seems to love doing the show. Hosting AC360 is mostly serious stuff, and Live! allows Anderson to show his funny side,” the source adds. “He can cut loose and joke, which he enjoys. He told a pal that working on the show is an ‘absolute riot.’”

Despite his news background, Anderson, 42, has subbed for Regis many times on Live! and also has experience hosting entertainment shows, after fronting The Mole and The Mole II.

Other possible candidates to replace Regis include Deal Or No Deal host Howie Mandel and American Idol frontman Ryan Seacrest.

Real Housewives of Atlanta fanatic Anderson Cooper is an admitted reality TV addict, but when it comes to MTV’s The Hills, villain Heidi Montag Pratt doesn’t quite make A.C.’s must-watch list.

CNN’s “Silver Fox” has blasted Heidi’s lip-synching performance at Sunday night’s Miss Universe pageant in the Bahamas as one of the worst spectacle’s he’s ever seen.

“I don’t really know who this person is, nor why she’s pretending to be a singer, nor why anyone should actually listen to her, but apparently she’s famous.”

Anderson for the win! This is even better than the time Anderson guest-hosted Live With Regis & Kelly and ripped Ali Lohan for her startling resemblance to a middle-aged soccer mom.

Tim recently revealed that he has a “celebrity crush” on the host of CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360° — who has always been cryptic when it comes to addressing questions regarding his sexuality. Although the potential couple has yet to enjoy a first date, Tim admits the two are friends, who e-mail one another often.

“He’s fabulous,” Tim squeals. “I love his brain, looks, and style,” the fashionisto added with a smile. “We’ve actually been trying to have lunch for a year and a half,” he explains. “Both of us are so busy that we haven’t been successful doing it, but we exchange e-mails.”

Respected CNN anchor Anderson Cooper is feeling the wrath of Lohan after making several sharp remarks about the Long Island clan while sitting in for Regis Philbin on Live With Regis & Kelly on Tuesday.

“Living Lohan is just atrocious,” said Anderson, who branded the showbusiness family “horrific.”

“I cannot believe I’m wasting a minute of my life watching these horrific people,” Anderson retorted.

Even young Ali Lohan wasn’t safe from one of Andy’s quips:

“[Ali] is a 14-year-old girl, looks to be about 60. She allegedly wants to be a singer and or actor-slash-performer of some sort, striptease person, I don’t know.”

Ouch..in all fairness though, Ali does look like a 40-year-old soccer mom…we’re just saying.

Family matriarch Dina Lohan has hit back, saying, “People are just cruel! This is bad karma for him.”

A very notable Atlanta individual was in an Atlanta area adult novelty store where he caught CNN newsman Anderson Cooper giving a man head in one of the ‘private’ porn booths.

The adult novelty story is “Inserections” and is located near Chesire Bridge Rd in Atlanta, GA. This incident happened two weeks ago and was only made apparent after Anderson’s hat and glasses fell off.
