Saturday Night Live comic Amy Poehler, 37, and her husband Will Arnett are welcoming the arrival of their first son.
“On behalf of Amy and Will, I can confirm that Amy gave birth to Archie Arnett on Saturday, October 25th,” Amy’s rep confirmed in a statement this morning. “He is 8lbs., 1oz.”
“Amy, Will and Archie are all healthy and resting comfortably.”

Amy Poehler will leave Saturday Night Live after the historic November 2008 presidential election, the pregnant comics says in the October issue of Men’s Vogue.
“It’s gonna be really hard — Boyz II Men hard — to say goodbye to yesterday. SNL was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down.”
Amy has her sights firmly set on NBC primetime, where she hopes to follow in the footsteps of other SNL comics and find success on a network sitcom.

Saturday Night Live star Amy Poehler is in discussions to star in an upcoming spinoff of NBC’s The Office. The new comedy is scheduled to debut on the network’s Thursday night lineup in February.

Saturday Night Live alum Amy Poehler, star of this weekend’s box office hit Baby Mama, is expecting her first child with husband Will Arnett; they have been married since 2003. The couple’s rep, Lewis Kay, confirmed the news on Monday, adding that Amy and Will are happily anticipating the baby’s birth this Fall.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s culture-clash comedy Baby Mama was tops at the box office this weekend. The film about an upper-class career women who hires a working class surrogate to carry her child took in $18.3 million during it’s opening weekend. Read the rest of this entry »
