“America’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan announced he was leaving the show just yesterday — and the Wall Street Journal reports the program is already in negotiations with a pretty familiar face to replace him.
Piers Morgan is hangng up his hat as a talent show pundit.
On Wednesday, the former tabloid reporter announced that he is stepping down from his post as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, ending a six season reign. Morgan, who stuck around as Regis Philbin, Jerry Springer, Brandy, and David Hasselhoff, all came and went, had been the only original judge still with the show.
You remember Susan Boyle. She’s the frumpy Scottish singer who became a literal overnight superstar when video from her audition for “Britain’s Got Talent” went viral in 2009.
Despite a fabulously-successful first album later that year, Boyle was plagued with panic attacks and gave a few awful live performances, leading many in the industry to worry her career wouldn’t have much of a shelf-life.
