We know what American Idol finalist Katy Perry is rooting for.
While performing “Waking Up In Vegas” on Wednesday night’s Idol Results Show, the eccentric star appeared on stage in an Elvis-inspired costume, complete with satin cape with the words “Adam Lambert” embroidered on the back.
Kris Allen and Adam Lambert will face off for the title of the American Idol 2009 next week.
Spectacled singer Danny Gokey — who had never been in the Bottom Two or Three before his elimination –was voted off Idol on Wednesday night, leaving fan favorite Adam and Arkansas native Kris to battle it out on this year’s A.I. finale.
Paula Abdul choked back tears as Danny sang a very emotional version of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful.”
More than 88 million votes were cast after Tuesday’s Top Three performances.

Allison Iraheta — the feisty 16-year-old from Los Angeles and the lone female finalist remaining on Season 8 of American Idol — was voted off the competition on Wednesday night. Allison’s departure leaves, for the first time in Idol history, an all-male Top Three.
Next week’s show will mark the first time a female hasn’t been in featured in the show’s final three.
