Fox is working on a deal to keep American Idol alive — with or without the show’s most popular judge, Simon Cowell.
Adam Lambert and his longtime boyfriend, interior de signer Drake LaBry, have called it quits.
The news comes just four months after the American Idol star revealed his homosexuality in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine in last June. His relationship with LaBry became public soon after, with the pair kissing for snappers to confirm they were an item. Reports of a split hit the Interwebs via Twitter late Saturday, after a pal Lambert was partying with in West Hollywood over the weekend decided to share the development.
Life after Idol is looking a bit grim for Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta.
David, now 18, is considering putting his promising recording career on hold to care for his younger siblings as their parents battle it out in divorce court, sources close to the singer dish in the new edition of The National Enquirer.

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert called Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday to announce that he’ll be performing his eagerly-awaited new single at the 2009 American Music Awards next month.The Black Eyed Peas are also scheduled to perform at the awards show on Nov. 22.

The single has yet to be released, but will be “something entirely different” and “glammy,” Adam explained.
“It’s all very exciting…we’re bringing back a glam-rock kind of feel to pop music so I hope everbody likes it.”
Adam’s still untitled album will be released November 24.
Allison Iraheta, the 17-year-old singer, who cracked the Top 4 with her rocker-chic stylle on American Idol last season, has been signed to Jive Records and is releasing her debut single “Friday I’ll Be Over U.”
