Adam Lambert and his longtime boyfriend, interior de signer Drake LaBry, have called it quits.
The news comes just four months after the American Idol star revealed his homosexuality in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine in last June. His relationship with LaBry became public soon after, with the pair kissing for snappers to confirm they were an item. Reports of a split hit the Interwebs via Twitter late Saturday, after a pal Lambert was partying with in West Hollywood over the weekend decided to share the development.

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert called Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday to announce that he’ll be performing his eagerly-awaited new single at the 2009 American Music Awards next month.The Black Eyed Peas are also scheduled to perform at the awards show on Nov. 22.
The single has yet to be released, but will be “something entirely different” and “glammy,” Adam explained.
“It’s all very exciting…we’re bringing back a glam-rock kind of feel to pop music so I hope everbody likes it.”
Adam’s still untitled album will be released November 24.

She’s made headlines for replacing Paula Abdul on the judges’ panel of the ninth season of American Idol, and on Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the comedienne is taking on critics who have questioned how qualified she is to judge TV’s top-rated singing competition.
“Apparently, there’s a lot of debate going on right now, whether I’m qualified or not to be the new judge on ‘American Idol’… I’ll tell you right now, how I know I’m going to be a great judge — because I’ve spent my whole life being judged. So, I know what it’s like. So, I will be kind. I will be compassionate. I will be empathetic, and I will be truthful. I will be an honest judge without being mean,” Ellen told her audience. With conservative chatterbox Elisabeth Hasselbeck still out on maternity leave, American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is the latest star joining the round table for a guest co-hosting gig on The View, ABC News announced on Monday.
Kara will guest co-host the Emmy-winning daytime talk show, alongside regulars Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sherri Shepherd, on October 15. The singer/songwriter/producer made her View debut following the American Idol finale last May. The appearance will be the first time Kara has co-hosted the show.
Is music industry novice Ellen DeGeneres ready to take over as a judge on American Idol?
On Wednesday, the talk show hostess announced that she will be taking over as the fourth judge on the FOX reality talent competition, and in a new interview with colleague Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, Ellen revealed why she’s a good fit for the show.
“I love music, period. I’ve always loved music. And i’m a huge fan of the show. I haven’t missed one show since season one,” Ellen say in responses to critics who claims she lacks the background essential to selecting an Idol champ. “The people are the ones that choose the American Idol. Ultimately it doesn’t come down to some expert in the music industry, it comes down to everybody at home that says ‘that’s the person I relate to, that’s the person that I’m going to buy music from’.”
American Idol judge Randy Jackson is reacting to the news that daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will be joining him at the judges’ table when television’s most-watched program kicks off its ninth season on FOX next year.
“[Ellen] can be the voice of the people among us,” Jackson said Fox & Friends on Thursday morning. The record producer was responding to a question of whether it was “okay” for Ellen to judge a singing competition when the comedienne has virtual no background in music. Read the rest of this entry »
On Wednesday, comedienne Ellen DeGeneres was named the new fourth judge on American Idol, replacing Paula Abdul, who quit the most-watched show in America after a salary dispute last month.
“….Getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text my vote,” she said in the statement.
