Songbird Alicia Keys — the daughter of an African-American father and an Italian-American mother — tackles the tough issue of interracial dating in the past and present in the video for “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready),” the third single from her hit LP The Element of Freedom. The poignant clip, directed by Jake Nava, co-stars former One True Hill actor Chad Michael Murray as Alicia’s love interest.
The video is a love story taken in snapshots through different time periods, with the underlying premise being that racism has survived through these various eras and its still alive today.
