Alex Trebek, the guy who reads the answers on “Jeopardy” and acts like he already knew them, showed up in California to host the National Geographic World Championship at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View — on crutches.
Asked what happened, he said he was chasing a burglar at his San Francisco hotel at 2:30am when his Achilles tendon suddenly snapped, causing him to fall and injure his other leg as well. The reporter then made him phrase the story in form of a question, causing Trebek to knock her upside the head with a crutch.
