This just in: Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels has confirmed to reporters that Alec Baldwin will host SNL’s 37th season premiere, airing Sept. 24. The appearance, Baldwin’s 16th, will set a record. The 30 Rock actor is currently tied with fellow former Oscar host Steve Martin as the second person to host the sketch comedy classic 15 times. Alec last tickled funnybones on the SNL Season 35 Finale in May 2010.
The second episode of the season will be hosted by Bridesmaids star and Mike & Molly Emmy nominee Melissa McCarthy.
