Aaron Spelling

Aaron Spelling is going to get a tribute at this year’s Emmy Awards. This will be the first Aaron Spelling nod at the Emmys since 1994, when he won an award for the TV movie “And the Band Played On.” Previous to that, he had nods for “Dynasty,” “Family” and “The Mod Squad.”

But this means he never got an Emmy for “Saved by the Bell.” Or “7th Heaven.” Or “Charmed.” Or “Beverly Hills 90210.” Or even “T.J. Hooker.” In some ways, that’s strange to people of my generation considering that all those shows, “T.J. Hooker” aside, were some kind of staple of our childhood and adolescence.

But hey, I’ll be happy if the tribute includes scenes from the episode of “Saved by the Bell” where Jessie gets hooked on diet pills, or at least the one where Zach, Screech and Slater find a joint in the restroom.

(insert Tori Spelling joke here)

Aaron Spelling, TV God, has passed away. Those of us who glued ourselves to the tube each week to catch the latest installment will mourn the loss over the Beverly Hills: 90210 DVD set. In a move that is as classy as a Lil’ Kim pastey, Tori has started making public accusations about her mother’s sex life in an attept to squeeze more out of Daddy’s will.

The pseudo-starlet wasn’t even at the hospital when her father died. She found out about the lose through a friend who heard on the news! Candy and son Randy Spelling expressed her heartfelt disappointment in Tori with a statement made through their spokesman. It was a clasic “love your enemy” speech, and only serves to make Tori look that much worse.

Aaron Spelling, producer of TV’s “Beverly Hills, 90210″ and “Charlie’s Angels,” suffered a stroke at his Holmby Hills estate over the weekend and was being treated at home, his publicist said Wednesday.

“He had a stroke Sunday at home,” said spokesman Kevin Sasaki. “I don’t know the extent of it. But if it had been some incredible degree, he would have been taken to the hospital.”

Spelling, 83, was conscious and resting comfortably, Sasaki said. Spelling’s wife, Candy, has been at his side.

Sasaki said he wasn’t aware of any paralysis.
