A manager for pop star Aaron Carter has blamed the 21-year-old crooner’s ginormous debt to Uncle Sam on his former management team – insisting the star was completely “unaware” he owed $1 million in back taxes until the media got ahold of the massive tax lien on Tuesday.

The former pop singer — who was recently eliminated from ABC’s top-rated ballroom competition Dancing With The Stars – has been slammed with a staggering $1 million tax bill from the Internal Revenue Service.
According to TMZ.com, papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday show the star owes $1,010,635 to the U.S. government.
On Tuesday night, Aaron Carter was sent home from the ballroom.
Aaron and his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff, just missed out on next week’s Dancing With The Stars semi-finals round, but managed to gain acclaim from judge Len Goodman, who addressed the pop star with an emotional speech.
“I think the dedication that you have shown week after week is absolutely fantastic. You’re an inspiration to all young people that anything is possible and if you were my son I would be so proud of you,” Len told Aaron. “But more important, you be proud of yourself, because you’ve been great.”
“One thing I will always remember and take from this competition is the lessons I learned,” Aaron said to the judging panel. “I’ve grown so much with your compliments and your criticism, so thank you for helping me be able to grow on this show.”

A rep for the singer tells The Insider that the crooner injured his knee this afternoon during rehearsal with his partner Karina Smirnoff. While medics tried icing Aaron’s bum knee, he may not dance on tonight’s show.
Aaron is the latest of several competitors on the ninth season of Dancing With The Stars to suffer series-related injuries; former House Majority Leader Tom Delay and Entourage star Debi Mazar have also been injured in rehearsals for the show in recent weeks.

Aaron Carter was arrested for investigation of marijuana possession in Kimble County, Texas on Thursday night. The twenty year old was pulled over for speeding on I-10, and when authorities searched his car, they found over two ounces of marijuana.
