With pop music slowly but surely knocking rock music to the bottom of the charts, Foo Fighters lead David Grohl has declared a one man mission to save screaming guitars, heavy drums, head banging, and the pure, unadulterated, non-computer generated noises defined as rock-n-roll.
As an integral member of Grammy winning bands, Grohl’s contribution to propelling rock music is as genuine as his talent, despite the slow nudged as pop made it’s way to the top of record charts over the past 7 years. During an acceptance speech after earning five awards at this year’s Grammy’s, Grohl offered: “To me this award means a lot because it shows that the human element of music is what’s important. Singing into a microphone and learning to play and instrument and doing your craft, that’s the most important thing for people to do…It’s not about being perfect, it’s not about being absolutely correct, it’s not about what goes on in a computer. It’s about what goes on in here [your heart] and what goes on in here [your head].”
He has a valid point and the Grammy’s to prove it. Among the Foo Fighter’s wins on Sunday were Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song.

Oscar-winner, Jennifer Hudson, sounded amazing tonight as she performed I will always love you, in honor of the late, Whitney Houston.
Houston, who was found dead in her Beverly Hilton hotel room, just 36 hours before the 54th annual Grammy Awards, was honored at the beginning of the awards by host LL Cool J and then later in the show by Jennifer.
Did you think the Grammy’s did enough to honor Whitney? I was a little suprised that it took 2 hours to get to a tribute, outside of the clip they showed at the beginning of the show. Kudos to LL though….what a way to start off the night. Read the rest of this entry »
