Kristin Chenoweth is doing fine after suffering a migraine and seeking medical attention at last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards in Hollywood, her publicist tells The Associated Press.
Paramedics were called backstage at the Nokia Theater after the star, who won her first Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Emmy Award for her role as Olive Snook on the now-defunct ABC series Pushing Daisies, first complained about a migraine headache, then said she couldn’t open her eyes.
Paramedics onsite cared for the star in the room outside of the backstage gift lounge. She rested and then left the ceremony.
Kristin, who had given a tearful acceptance speech just moments before, wasted no time using the award as a new resume booster.
“I’m unemployed now so I’d like to be on ‘Mad Men,’” she said while accepting the award. “I also like ‘The Office’ and ‘24.’”
Chenoweth is also known for her award-winning performance in the Broadway musical Wicked.

Neil Patrick Harris will host the 61st Primetime Emmys Awards, airing September 20 on CBS, the network announced on Monday.
The gig is one in a string of award hosting gigs for Harris this year; the star of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother won critical acclaim as host of the 2009 Tony and TV Land Awards this spring.
Last year’s Emmys were widely criticized for the decision to rotate the hosting position between five reality hosts — Tom Bergeron, Jeff Probst, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Ryan Seacrest — who were all nominated in the Best Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Show category.
The Primetime Emmys, originally scheduled to air on Sept. 13, has been pushed back to Sept. 20 to avoid a conflict with the MTV Video Music Awards. airing a week earlier, CBS said in a press statement issued Wednesday.
“After we announced plans for Sept. 13, MTV informed us they were locked into the same day for the Video Music Awards, with venue and sponsorship agreements in place. We had the flexibility to move; they didn’t,” said Jack Sussman, Executive VP, Specials, Music & Live Events.
