Lily Allen has been axed from appearing at the MTV Video Music Awards next month following the revocation of her US Work Visa. The singer’s visa was revoked earlier this month when she was detained for six hours by US customs and immigration following a March kicking attack on a photographer.

It looks like Criss Angel isn’t sticking his magic stick in Britney Spears after all. According to BreatheHeavy.com, Britney is collaborating with the famed magic man on her upcoming MTV Video Music Awards opener.(A story we covered in mid-July before E! picked it up as their own.). Perhaps he can make her disappear?

You heard about Britney Spears’ possibly ‘comeback’ performance on next month’s MTV Video Music Awards first on Popcrunch. Now more details are emerging on the fallen star’s VMA opener. A representative for MTV says: “I cannot confirm or deny it.”

MTV has announced the nominations for September’s 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, and Justin Timberlake and Beyonce are leading the pack.
