Giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “Jesus Take The Wheel,” Carrie Underwood has set her sights on reuniting with ex-BF Tony Romo, despite the fact that the NFL star is currently dating singer Jessica Simpson.

L&S sources close to the romance aren’t convinced Carrie, who recently split with Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, isn’t going after the Dallas Cowboys quarterback simply to irk Jessica:

Carrie became angry after Jess began dating her ex and announced plans to move in on Carrie’s professional territory by recording a country album, the mag reports.

And Carrie’s going further than innocent phone calls in her quest to reclaim Romo, “She wrote Tony an e-mail a few weeks ago that said she’s still not over him…Jess has made it clear she doesn’t trust Carrie.”
