Carrie Underwood “Most Popular American Idol” AOL Television Poll

Carrie Underwood is the Most Popular American Idol Winner of All-Time, according to a new poll from AOL Television. Carrie, who won American Idol in 2005, has gone on to win several Grammy, American Music, and Country Music Association awards, following the release of her platinum-selling albums, Some Hearts and Carnival Ride. Carrie was voted the most popular Idol by fifty-four percent of the voters polled Kelly Clarkson, who won the first season of Idol in 2002, came in a distant second with twenty-six percent of votes.

Dreadlocked crooner Jason Castro’s “Don’t Forget The Lyrics” performance of Bob Dylan classic “Mr. Tambourine Man was dubbed the Worst Idol Performance of 2008, by thirty-five percent of pollers. Jason also took “Most Overrated Idol” honors.
Twenty-nine year old Australian Michael Johns was considered the 2008 Idol loser most likely to make good.
The AOL Television poll, conducted May 9-16, received more than 1.3 million votes.
