Carrie Fisher’s one-woman show Wishful Drinking is headed to HBO as a feature-length documentary. A star in her own right, Carrie — who portrayed Princess Leia in George Lucas’ Star Wars series — is the daughter of entertainment legends Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. The celebutot’s hit autobiographical stage production chronicles the writer-actress’ often-tumultuous life, including her struggles with substance abuse and bipolar disorder. Wishful Drinking: The Documentary will combine scenes from Fisher’s performances, archival footage, and interviews with her friends and family, The Hollywood Reporter said on Friday.
The documentary is expected to debut early next year.
