Carnie Wilson Reality Show: “Carnie Wilson: Unstapled” Jan. 2010
You knew it was coming. After showing her 1999 obesity surgery online, Wilson-Phillips singer-songwriter Carnie Wilson has never shied away from sharing her life with the public. And that’s exactly why she’ll be debuting a reality TV series, set for premiere early next year. Carnie Wilson: Unstapled – a play on candid Carnie’s famous gastric-bypass surgery — will focus on her life as a working mother, The Associated Press reported Wednesday. The new reality series will air this January on The Game Show Network (GSN), which also airs Carnie’s redux of The Newlywed Game.
“I’ve written two autobiographies and posed for Playboy. I think I’ve pretty much been out there. This is definitely the most exposed I’ve ever been,” says Carnie, who hopes her dad, Beach Boy Brian, will make make an appearance on the show.
Kelly Goode, GSN senior vice president for Original Programming and Development, couldn’t be happier to bring Carnie’s quirky life to the network’s usual lineup of game shows.
“Carnie is incredibly funny and earthy. … She’s a personality the viewers have fallen in love with,” Kelly said.
