No surprises here: Carly Rae Jepsen’s infectious summer single, “Call Me Maybe,” is tops on Billboard’s annual “Songs of Summer” list.
The ranking charts the overall performance of hit songs on the Billboard Hot 100 between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The song spent more than five weeks on No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and parodies of the song from everyone from Justin Bieber to Cookie Monster have popped up online and on late night talk shows.
Jepsen, a 26-year-old Canadian, is up for the Best New Artist moonman at Thursday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.
