Dr Pepper Chinese Democracy Offer – Free Dr. Pepper For Everyone!

In March of 2008, Dr. Pepper bet everyone in America a free soda that Guns N’ Roses couldn’t release its long awaited album, “Chinese Democracy,” by the end of 2008. But Chinese Democracy has finally been released to the world…

Now Axl Rose, Guns N’ Roses and the American people have won the bet. At the moment, the www.drpepper.com servers are down, due to a flood of traffic – people trying to get their dibs on a free Dr. Pepper coupon.

The Dr. Pepper coupons are only available today on the drpepper.com website and will be valid for a free 20-ounce soda through February of 2009.

Dr. Pepper should have made arrangements for the bandwidth and traffic needs this offer would result in.

They need to extend the offer to make up for this debacle. Some are asking if the website downtime was planned to limit the losses that this offer would produce.

Dr. Pepper is taking this promotional opportunity and just getting people upset that it is not available.

I think that since Dr. Pepper didn't state "while supplies last" that they should allow

I agree with the above comments. Dr Pepper should have anticipated the congestion and made other arrangements. Or extend their offer!

I agree with all the dissapointed people who looked forward to getting a free Dr.Pepper coupon today. It was just a little something to lift their spirits in these trying times and I think the company should extend the deadline under the circumstances. It's not nice to get peoples hopes up only to let them down.

I think it is pretty crummy to conveniently have your website down so you can't get a free Dr. Pepper coupon. After all, times are bad, and FREE is the new favorite four letter word. Barack Obama asked everyone to help in the coming years to take responsibility and accountability–once again a BIG company screwed the little guy. The Dr. Pepper Company should reopen the possibility and give everyone a free soda or we should boycott- Dr. Pepper. Today I bought Mountain Dew. I'm going to make sure you don't own that company- I'm pretty sure it's a Pepsi-Cola product. You Fat Cats should do what you say you're going to do or don't make promises in magazines and papers trying to get free publicity without spending any money. I'm going to write my paper who announced it and tell what your company did. We were duped, by your ad machine. Bye, Bye, Dr. Pepper. It's too bad you profit off of Guns n' Roses. Yuck! I can't believe Axyl would be part of a such a hypocritical conglomeration like Dr. Pepper. What has happened to Rock? I bet nobody had a piece of Jimmy Hendrix. No wonder Prince has his own label. Capitalism can suck when companies are so greedy. You CEO's, how much money is enough? How many cars do you need? How many houses do you need? What the hell happened to the US and Capitalism? I may sound like a nut– but the free Dr. Pepper and nobody being able to get one boils down to money. It's ALL about money.

i think the page is down, and i hope they give people like a month to claim it.

at there convenience. however it does seem a bit to coincidental that the page has been down ALL DAY

not just like half the day but like all day…

we will see what they will do.

hopefully they will keep good on there word…

otherwise thats just really crappy and a REAL sign of the times that they dont realize who has the real power at hand. if people dont buy your product you go bankrupt. i dont care how many people you employ, as if another soda company (prob better one) won't emerge soon after your collapse.. i just hope they dont ask for a bailout.

that goes for all companies and banks.

i like how people are so stupid to think the world will end if a few big companies go bust.

As if responsible people and businesses wont take there place!

thats how capitalism works. when you get to greedy and risky, you fail and go bye bye…

never the less, if i dont get my free dr. pepper

i can go the rest of my life without one.

hell the 79 cent 2 liter brand X cherry coke is just as good…

Negative publicity travels faster that positive, it's just human nature. So I hope the Dr.Pepper execs extend the timeline for the public to receive their coupons for a free 20 oz. drink. Personally, I think 24 hours is absolutely, ridiculously, too short of a timespan for "everyone in the U.S.A." to accomplish redeeming their alloted coupon by the internet or phone number option. I like Dr.Pepper and other sodas too. I will wait & see how this promised bet turns out today and decide later if I will boycott the company.. or not. hmmm?

I hope they bring this back up, or at least allow a way that will make everyone happy to get the dr. pepper they deserve… I live somewhere overseas, so all I get is the costly $1.35 for a 20 oz. I was really hoping for this one coupon to help brighten my day. I was going to skip in, grab a Dr. Pepper, and walk around and advertise there product as I drank it, but I guess I will have to go in with shoulders down, looking like a sad puppy because i am out of money for a Dr. Pepper. I think the company server for Dr. Pepper may have gone down because of an override on the system. When you have over who knows how many people simultaneously logging into one server, the server will override and crash. Then it takes a while to recuperate, becauase you have those same people every few minutes trying for that one free item. So, i propose something… STOP TRYING TO GET THE COUPON EVERY FEW MINUTES, GIVE THEM TIME TO FIX THERE SERVER, YOU GREEDY PEOPLE!

Of course the servers are down. Anytime there is a promation, that is the excuse. If they really wanted everyone to get a free Dr. Pepper, they would have put a coupon in the local papers or at least had it longer on the computer than 24 hours. This sucks big time!!!

I'm not even exhagerating… You know why I don't care if I have to pay for it? because I want to keep it in business…now-a-days, the economy can destroy any company, so I pay to keep the soda I love in production. I've made calculations, and I've been drinking Dr. Pepper everyday for 5 years…and roughly 5-6 and even 5-10 a day, the calculation came to 9000, I couldve payed my car off already, but I continue to buy it because I love the taste of it
