Bubbles The Chimp Spoof Memoir
Bubbles The Chimp has penned a tell-all memoir about his life with the recently deceased King of Pop.
Bubbles: My Secret Diary, From Swaziland to Neverland is a spoof tell-all being published by John Blake, who describes the book as a “collection of very personal and honest entries from (Bubbles’) diary.”
Blake said: “Behind his seemingly-perfect life of glamorous friends, gold-plated tyre swings, and personal chefs, there is a dark history of medical experiments, addiction and loss. But Bubbles has fought against his personal and professional problems and, with his help of man-pet Michael Jackson, he has grown to become bigger than King Kong-figuratively speaking.”
Bubbles, now 26, sat in on recordings for Michael’s Bad album and even accompanied the legend on a tour of Japan, before being sold to an animal sanctuary in Florida in 2003.
It details how he escaped from an “awful childhood” in a research clinic in 1983 through the slightly darker aspects of his career, including his 2,000-dollar-a-day banana addiction, depression, romantic conquests, and the “vicious rivalry” with Tarzan star Cheeta.
The memoir will also include a chapter about how Bubbles dealt with Michael’s death in June.
The book goes on sale in October.
