Broadway Honors Natasha Richardson
Broadway dimmed its lights in tribute to Tony Award-winning actress Natasha Richardson on Thursday.
The 45-year-old star died on Wednesday after sustaining a severe head injury while learning to ski at the Mont Tremblant Resort outside Montreal earlier this week. The NYC medical examiner’s office says Natasha Richardson died of an “epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head.”
Natasha, who was a member of the famed Redgrave acting dynasty, made her mark on the Great White Way with critically-acclaimed performances in productions like A Streetcar Named Desire and Cabaret
“The Broadway community is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our finest young actresses,” Charlotte St Martin, director of the Broadway League, said in a statement Thursday.
