People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), a notorious former Spears foe, has been left so impressed by Britney Spears’ record-breaking guest appearance on last week’s episode of How I Met Your Mother that the acid-tongued animal rights group would like to offer the pop tart a new gig.

PETA president Ingrid Newkirk hopes to land Britney as the organization’s resident receptionist for a day.

In a letter to the singer, Ingrid writes:

“… We might have criticized you in the past for contributing to the dog overpopulation crisis and wearing real fur, but perhaps now that your own crisis has abated, a new day calls for a new relationship, a new outlook, and a new understanding.”

Brit will receive a $1,000 donation to a children’s charity of her choice if she accepts PETA’s offer.
