Spain’s loss may be Italy’s gain.
Spanish heartthrob Enrique Iglesias pulled out of co-headlining a tour with pop princess Britney Spears just hours after the summer trek around North America was announced by Britney herself on Tuesday morning. A setback, however, doesn’t mean Spearsy hasn’t got a few tricks up her sleeve to ensure that there’s a healthy dose of testosterone in the house when she hits the stage in Sacramento on June 14.
We hear the “Hold It Against Me” hitmaker is considering inviting Jersey Shore mixmaster Pauly D along as her Official Femme Fatale Tour DJ. After all, insiders say, the pair got along like peas and carrots (as Forrest Gump would say) when Brit made a surprise weekend appearance at The Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, where Paul recently took over duties as House DJ. Now the chiseled and well-coiffed Italian and his MacBook could be touring with one of the biggest pop stars of the last 10 years — when he’s not in Italy shooting scenes for the hotly-awaited fourth season of Jersey Shore, of course.
The New York Daily News writes: “It’s unlikely the reality star, who had Spears as his ‘special guest’ at The Palms Las Vegas last Friday (where he is a resident deejay), will be along for the entirety of the tour. He’ll begin taping a fourth season of “Jersey Shore” in Italy next month. Still, the pairing comes as no surprise to us. The Italian stud and the Southern songstress are represented by the same manager, Larry Rudolph.”
