French fashion house Louis Vuitton has won a $117,000 cash settlement and the rights to have a Britney Spears video banned from future use due to copyright infringement of the label’s trademark fabric in Britney Spears’ ‘Do Somethin’‘ music video
According to Forbes.com:
In the video, Spears appears in a car upholstered with Louis Vuitton fabric. The tribunal found the director of the video had clearly emphasized the Louis Vuitton brand, the report said.
The tribunal ruled that responsibility for the unauthorized use of the Louis Vuitton brand lay with Sony (nyse: SNE - news - people ) BMG and its subsidiary Zomba as well as MTV Online, and not the singer herself.
