Britney Spears “If You Seek Amy” Rerecorded

Britney Spears has been forced to rerecord her upcoming single after radio stations across America threatened to ban the song from the airwaves.

“If U Seek Amy,” will be the third single released from Britney’s platinum-selling Circus LP. The controversial track contains the chorus “All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to, If You Seek Amy”, which, when sung quickly, sounds like “Fuck me.”

Several US radio stations threatened to boycott the song after the lyrics were deemed to be too offensive for air.

According to The Sun, Britney decided to return to the studio to rerecord the track, removing the “k” from the end of “seek” and renaming the song “If U See Amy,” in a bid to avoid further controversy.

that is such a crock of shit. music is supposed to be about self expression and creativity and this songs contains both. if britney wants to sing about F-U-C-K me…let her. trust me, there are far worse songs out there than this poppy tune. Get over it. This is America. If people are offended by a song called “If U Seek Amy”, they don’t have to listen to it; they can just turn it off.

I’m 18 and frequently listened to the song and I didn’t even notice the f u c k bit (just thought the song didnt make sense lol) so I doubt if young kids will notice it either unless they’re very dirty minded in which case there already currupt so this I think is quite unessersary

First time I heard the song I thought she was talking about wanting to be with a girl named Amy. Think about it, she want to know where Amy is, she’s gonna buy her a drink, she’s trying to meet her @ a club, can’t get her (amy) off of her brain, the whole fuck me thing doesn’t make sense until the line “oh baby baby if you seek Amy tonight, oh baby baby we’ll do whatever you like” and there is the only part where that makes sense. This song is no worse than rappers talking about getting laid in they’re songs, & they get played unedited radio play, or just have the cuss words bleeped out of the songs.
