The Circus: Starring Britney Spears crept into the Big Easy on Tuesday night. The 27-city tour is Britney’s first in nearly five years.
Jugglers, clowns, ninjas, and aerial acrobats were regular fixtures at last night’s opening show.
The Pussycat Dolls warmed up the crowd for 40 minutes, performing a series of their hits, like “Don’t Cha,” “When I Grow Up,” and “Bottle Pop.”
Britney Spears descended from the ceiling of the New Orleans Arena at 9.20pm dressed as a ringmaster to perform the title track of her platinum-selling 2008 album, Circus.
She performed a 90-minute set that included renditions of her breakout single “Baby One More Time,” as well as charttoppers “Piece of Me,” and “Gimme More.”
“Thank you New Orleans, I love u guys. Did y’all have a good time? Thank you so much,” Britney said to the audience just before taking her final bow.
