We hear Britney Spears is set to take the stage for a live performance just as star-gazing crooners Kris Allen and Adam Lambert face off for the title of “American Idol 2009″ at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater on Wednesday night.

Stars already confirmed for this year’s big finale include Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas and Keith Urban, as well as former Idols Carrie Underwood and David Cook.
