Don’t expect any tributes to Britney Spears on American Idol any time soon. Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told reporters on Thursday, he doesn’t believe the singer should serve as a celebrity mentor for the singing hopefuls.
“Britney at this moment, I don’t think is well enough to do anything and I think she needs looking after rather than being pushed in front of the cameras or pushing herself in front of cameras,” Nigel said. “I thinks she needs to get herself together, bless her.”
“I would have had Britney Spears last year for sure, when I thought she was trying to get it all back together again,” he said.
