Bret Michaels Head Injury Tony Awards 2009 (VIDEO)
Poison rocker and VH1 reality star Bret Michaels was nearly beheaded after he ran into a set piece on stage at the 2009 Tony Awards on Sunday night.
Bret and his band Poison had just finished performing “Nothin’ But a Good Time” alongside the cast of the musical Rock of Ages when the Rock of Love frontman Michaels was hit in the head by a descending piece from the show’s set, causing him to fall backward.
Host Neil Patrick Harris later joked about the opening number accident. Tonys spokesperson Christina Stejskal told The Associated Press that Bret “missed his mark,” but did not specify as to whether or not he was injured.
