Breastfeeding Doll Draws Mixed Reaction From Parents
A doll that shows little girls how to breastfeed is drawing mixed reaction from mothers across America.
A toy company in Spain is manfacturing the doll called Bebe Gloton, or Glutton Baby. The doll comes with a floral halter top adorned with daisies that act as nipples. The doll makes a suckling noise when its mouth is put on the daisies during feeding.
The company believes their product encourages nursing at an early age. Oh brother….
Many moms who support breastfeeding applaud Bebe Gloton and its message. However, some parents have branded the toy “inappropriate” after viewing it online.
“This toy would never work in the US because the public would sexualize the act of breastfeeding, thereby deeming it inappropriate for little girl to engage in,” wrote one YouTube poster.
“Yes, breastfeeding is completely natural, but it is something that only adults do, not children. It would actually disgust me if I were to see a child using this ‘toy,’” another web surfer added.
