Boyzone crooner Stephen Gately died of natural causes, an autopsy revealed Tuesday. A court official on the Spanish island of Majorca — where the boy bander and his partner Andrew Cowles had been on vacation — has determined that Gately died after suffering a pulmonary oedema, an accumulation of fluid on the lungs.

This seems to confirm early speculation that Gately, who died after a night of heavy drinking at a local gay bar, choked on his vomit.

Gately was found dead on the sofa of his apartment in Port Andratx on Saturday night. He was 33.
