Boston Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster suspended and fined for throwing at A-Rod

***BESTPIX*** New York Yankees v Boston Red Sox

Boston Red Sox pitcher threw behind, inside and ultimately hit Yankees 3rd baseman, Alex Rodriguez, as the Yankees and Red Sox faced on Monday night in Boston.

Much to the cheers of the Fenway Faithful, Dempster hit A-rod in the shoulder, then A-rod proceeded to take a pitch deep to dead center field.

Dempster wasn’t warned after the first two pitches were aimed in the direction of Alex but he was “warned” after he hit him. Yankees manager Joe Girardi was ejected from the game, arguing that Dempster should have been thrown out.

Today, Ryan was suspended 5 games, so he may miss one start. Yankees manager Joe Girardi was fined $5,000 and Ryan Dempster was fined $2,500 by major league baseball.
