Well, what do you know? Little Blue Ivy Carter actually has a face — a very adorable one, might we add — and the celebrity-lovin’ masses will get a good look at it when her superstar mom premieres a hotly-awaited documentary on HBO this weekend.

The film, Beyonce: Life is But a Dream, will shine a light on the usually guarded star’s private side, including her life with husband Jay-Z and their 13-month-old daughter Blue Ivy. The celebutot routinely crisscrosses the globe with her famous parents, but the rarely makes public appearances.

Interestingly enough, Life is But a Dream also didn’t make it out of the can. In fact, it took six weeks of persistence for the singer’s management team to convince HBO officials to just sit down and watch her self-made debut.

HBO’s President of Programming Michael Lombardo told The New York Daily News:

“I knew who Beyonce was, but I wasn’t really a fan. If you had asked me to name more than one of her songs at that point I couldn’t.”

When Lombardo finally watched the footage, he was in awe:

“This, felt so fresh and honest to me. She’s constantly walking this line between public performer and private person, and wrestling with how, in this massive spotlight, she can hold onto the part of yourself that makes you real. It’s such an honest struggle and such an honest conversation. I was also dazzled by how hard she works, the unbelievable, unsexy, hard, sweaty work that goes into mounting a show — any show she does. You just have to take you hat off to her.”
