Most parents want their kids to spend less time texting and Tweeting – but not Billy Ray Cyrus. The country crooner isn’t happy that his superstar daughter, Disney actress Miley Cyrus, unceremoniously ditched popular social network website Twitter on Thursday, at the insistence of her latest Buss It Baby.

“Miley. You are a light in a world of darkness,” Billy Ray Tweeted on Thursday, just hous after Miley abandoned over a million followers with little warning. “You were born ‘Destiny Hope Cyrus’ for a reason. You can’t leave everyone now.”

Billy Ray urged Miley not to let anything stand in the way of her online fellowship with fans.

“We r countin on u,” he continued. “I understand ‘it is true one bad apple spoils the bunch….But listen to the words of your songs ‘Stand… for what ya believe in’…Remember?”

Miley quit Twitter early Thursday after her alleged new boyfriend, Austaralian actor Liam Hemsworth asked her to. Liam plays Miles’ on-screen love interest in the upcoming coming-of-age drama The Last Song. The strapping 18-year-old was already in a relationship when he began dating Miley, and the clandestine romance is rumored to have caused a rift in Miley’s own relationship with her father.

Her final Tweet read, “FYI Liam [Hemsworth] doesn’t have a twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason….”
