Bieber, Aguilera, Maroon 5 To Take Stage at 2011 American Music Awards

Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, and Kelly Clarkson are among the latest wave of entertainers confirmed to take the stage at the 2011 American Music Awards next month, Dick Clark Productions President Orly Adelson said Monday.

A pleasantly-plump Christina Aguilera will face a likely critical audience as she joins her The Voice co-star Adam Levine and his band, Maroon 5, for a duet of their single, “Moves Like Jagger.” The performers join previously announced acts Katy Perry and Pitbull. Additional acts and presenters are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, organizers say.

In related news, British recording star Adele leads the field with four nods. Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and The Band Perry are hot on her heels with three nominations each. Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Jason Aldean, Kanye West, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and Pitbull collected two nominations apiece. Adele, Perry, Gaga, Lil Wayne, and Swift are in the running for Artist of the Year honors.

The 2011 American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE Nov. 20 on ABC.
