Former child actress Beverley Mitchell has a new gig. The 7th Heaven alum signed up for a role on TV’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, a show representative told TVGuide.com this week.

She is to replace former Blossom star Mayim Bialik in the role of school counselor on the popular ABC Family series about the perils of teen moms.

Mitchell’s guest arc premieres in January.

Mitchell, 29, is best known for playing Jessica Biel’s kid sis Lucy Camden on the longrunning family drama.
