Why Is Bethenny Frankel Wearing a Four-Year-Old’s Pajamas?

Unemployment can leave a one-time Real Housewife with plenty of free time on her hands…Perhaps that explains why Bethenny Frankel is playing dress-up in her four-year-old daughter’s pajamas.

Frankel — whose shortlived talk show ended in May — is on the receiving end of harsh backlash after she Instagrammed a pic of her wearing her four-year-old daughter Bryn Hoppy’s Hello Kitty PJs. They don’t call her the Skinnygirl for nothin’.

“This is my daughter’s nightgown and PJ shorts. Think we’re ready to start sharing clothes yet?” read the caption that accompanied the image in question.

In the Court of Social Media Justice, the backlash is harsh and swift. By Monday morning, Bethenny’s post had garnered more than 600 comments. Many chatters chastised the Naturally Thin author, 43, for sending a bad message to her young daughter…and everyone else’s as well.

One follower wrote:

“This is disappointing…being able to fit into a 4 yr olds clothes isn’t something to be proud of or funny. I held you to better than this. I have always related to your sense of humor and I understand this wasn’t meant to be taken seriously but as a celebrity you need to be careful.”

Another added:

“This makes me sick to my stomach!!! #eatsomething.”

One biting comment remarked:

“I would just caution doing this as she gets more impressionable. She needs to develop a healthy self-image because she may not have all of your genes…and it won’t be obvious to you, but it will look as though you are competing with her.”

TracyLynn05 quipped:

You are SICK? Are you trying to promote eating disorders???

Someone else said of the pic:

“Starting a complex early for your daughter.”

Bethenny has her supporters too.

Summerbabee101 argued that some people are just, as Bethenny would say, “Naturally Thin.”

“She’s tiny. Who cares. It’s her body.”

hey_mr_tj seemed to back up that argument, writing:

“Some people are naturally small @monster_king1234, deal with it. For somebody who claims to be “buff,” you should have a better understand of body types than that.”

Mercidawn doesn’t think Bethenny has a problem at all:

“Id kill for her body right now. Used to be that thin. Until the Freshmen 15 set in. :(“

Bethenny responded to the backlash via her Twitter page early Monday. The brassy New York believes the rest of the world has a serious problem taking a joke.
