Ben Savage, known primarily for playing Cory Matthews on Boy Meets World and recently Girl Meets World, has shared some details about the upcoming season and its connections to the original show.
The series was special in a number of ways and fans of the show were truly able to grow up with him over the course of the 7 seasons of the beloved 90’s family show. There will be plenty of guest stars for Boy Meets World fans to get nostalgic over in season 2 of the Disney channel spinoff.
He was interviewed by MTV News recently and was joined by fellow Girl Meets World star Rowan Blanchard, who plays his daughter Riley Matthews. The two of them have fun answering questions and at one point they even argue over who has more information about a certain family member making a return.
Season 2 of Girl Meets World is shaping to be quite a treat for older fans who remember the original series with Eric Matthews (Will Friedle) set to make his debut in an episode titled “Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels?” He was a favorite for many fans and provided some of the best humor on the show.
Ben Savage and longtime TV girlfriend Danielle Fishel (Topanga) reunited for the spinoff last year and had fans of the original show going crazy and also gained a lot of new fans along the way.
While season 1 was mostly about introducing the new characters such as Riley and Maya (her best friend), the second season will build off of that and feature several stars from the original series. As the two of them talked about in the interview, there were several questions left unanswered at the end of Boy Meets World such as the fate of Mr. Turner, who will be making an appearance in the second season as well.
Ben Savage and Rider Strong were certainly the fan favorites and major parts of the original series as Cory and Shawn, even making Topanga jealous at times. Shawn appeared in the first season briefly, but due to an important episode of season 1, he is supposed to have a much bigger role in the second season.
